Kent Theater is a historic, single-owner neighborhood movie theater in Brooklyn — not a data company. This page explains, in plain language, what we collect when you buy a ticket, contact us, or visit this site, and what we do with it. We collect the minimum needed to sell you a ticket and let you into the show, nothing more.

Buying Tickets Online

When you buy tickets on this site, we ask for your email address (entered twice, to catch typos) so we can send your order confirmation and tickets. Payment is handled entirely inside an embedded Stripe checkout form — your card number and billing details go directly to Stripe. We never see or store your card details on our servers.

Each order gets a QR code ticket. That ticket record and its scan history at the door are kept so we can verify admission and investigate any door issues (a lost scan, a duplicate attempt, and so on).

Apple & Google Wallet

If you choose to add a ticket to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, your ticket details (movie, showtime, and QR code) are sent to Apple or Google to build that pass. This only happens if you tap “Add to Wallet” — it’s never automatic.

Email

We send transactional email only — your ticket confirmation, a refund notice, or a heads-up if a showtime changes. We don’t send marketing or promotional email, and we don’t sell or share your email address with advertisers. Email delivery is handled by our provider, Resend.

Contact Form

The form on our Contact page (name, email, phone, and your message) is delivered to us through Web3Forms, a third-party form service. We use it only to read and respond to your message.

Cookies

This site does not use advertising or analytics trackers of any kind. The only cookies we set are functional session cookies for theater staff signing into the admin dashboard or door scanner — they identify a logged-in staff session and nothing more.

Who We Share Information With

We share information only with the providers that help us run the site and process your order: Stripe (payments), Resend (email delivery), Sanity (movie and showtime content), Neon (our database), Vercel (hosting), and, only if you use them, Apple or Google (Wallet passes). We don’t sell your information to anyone.
